This lecture will equip you with some exciting tools you can turn to as you deal with the stress
that the past few years have brought. Kathy will explain how stress affects the body and the
brain and will lead you through four different techniques that you can choose from and practice
wherever you are. There are also some novel additional tools she will discuss that you can pull
out on a daily basis.

Lecture #7: “FOR CAREGIVERS COMING TOGETHER WITH THEIR LOVED ONES HERE ARE SOME TECHNIQUES TO:  COMMUNICATE…ANTICIPATE…REACT …ENJOY”

This lecture is a very special presentation, offering caregivers  information and the opportunity to shed potential guilt. The distinction between different types of dementia is stressed, highlighting Alzheimer’s, along with the ten warning signs. Strategies are offered to demonstrate physical, emotional and verbal interaction, as well as identifying specific bathroom and “sundowners syndrome” techniques . Finally, some fascinating brain apps are identified alongside the importance of music, tv shows and movies, and valuable websites to visit . The lecture is meant to give the caregiver the means to feel good about their own behavior with their loved one as they practice patience and relaxation.

Is CBD a myth or is it magic?  With all the controversy surrounding  this  all  natural ancient plant many are confused whether or not it really works: is it safe and is it legal?  Kathy Housey, local lecturer and educator presents the scientific information about CBD: the difference between CBD and the psychoactive ingredients in marijuana, the history of CBD in the United States,  what is legal and where, and the possible conditions it can treat. Kathy will share her personal journey with CBD as she offers a simple and logical explanation behind all the hype. Could this be a partial solution to the opioid crisis?
